Chocolate Making Party

Our Chocolate Making Party is quickly becoming a family tradition. It’s a great way to get the generations together, and a fun way to ring in the Holiday Season.

We followed the same guidelines as last year’s Chocolate Making Party: Bring what you want to make what you want. My daughters dove right in. They helped with everything from the prep work to molding chocolate.

We are cashing in on the mustache craze. These “Santa Whiskers” are white chocolate with lemon zest and peppermint flavored red chocolate melts.  We will tie these on gifts and deliver a few to the neighbor kids later this season.

New this year is our perfected “creamy spiced chocolate.” The flavors reminds me of something Vianne might have created in the movie “Chocolat.” Our recipe follows.

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces white chocolate
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate
  • ½ tsp chipotle
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • finely chopped pecans
Instructions
  1. Melt dark chocolate, stir in chipotle. Spread on parchment paper in a thin layer. Add nuts. Harden chocolate in cool place. The refrigerator or a snowbank generally works well for me.
  2. Melt white chocolate. Stir in cinnamon. Spread over dark chocolate layer. Cool.
