An allergy free twist on the classic Bird Nest treats. A.K.A haystacks.

  • 3 c. mini marshmallows
  • 3 TBSP unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 c. dry chow mein noodles
  • small egg shaped candies
  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Over low heat, melt the marshmallows and butter in a large saucepan. (this is a much better method than using the microwave.)
  3. Once melted, stir in the vanilla, then the chow mein noodles.
  4. Coat your hands liberally with shortening, or baking spray. You will need to reapply regularly.
  5. Shape a ping pong ball sized portion on the parchment paper. Use your thumbs to make a hole in the center.
