I heard a stereo type once about Minnesotan women; when ever company arrives, no matter how short the visit, they serve fresh baked goods. They then send home some extras with the guests. I can’t say that is completely accurate but my friend Tina may vouch for the myth.
Over the holidays she stopped by for this, that and the other thing. Turns out I was baking each time. Her kids were with her, so of course I wrapped up a few treats for her to take home.
Then came my moment of need. I asked her to help me with a writing project, in exchange she asked to borrow a couple of cookie sheets to make Italian Rainbow Cookies. Not a problem. We got to work.
A few days later she showed up with a package of Rainbow Italian Cookies and my cookies sheets. What goes around, really does come back around. These cookies are amazing!
My daughter was sick, so I met Tina in the driveway. Her son stuck his head out of the car window and asked if I had any cookies. I did. I had just baked Candy Land cutouts. (I’ll show those off in another post.)
If a girl’s is going to have a reputation, being the “cookie mom” is really not a hard one to live with.
